Frequently asked questions
Your first visit
Do I need a referral?
No. You do not need a referral for MozgásKlinika Újlipótváros. Anyone can book directly, online or by phone.
What happens at the first visit and how long does it take?
The first consultation at MozgásKlinika Újlipótváros lasts 60 minutes: a detailed history, a musculoskeletal assessment, a review of your scans, manual therapy and physiotherapy, and a personal treatment plan. It costs 24,990 HUF.
What should I bring?
Bring comfortable sportswear and a change of shoes. If you have earlier imaging results (MRI, X-ray, CT), bring them too, but they are not required.
Do I need an assessment if I have already been examined elsewhere?
Yes. At MozgásKlinika Újlipótváros the first visit always starts with a musculoskeletal assessment, even if you have been examined elsewhere and bring results. Your results are reviewed during the assessment, and treatment starts in the same session.
Will I be treated at the first visit?
Yes. Following the MozgásKlinika method, treatment starts in the same session as the assessment, so you do not have to wait for a separate appointment.

Treatment
What is the difference between manual therapy and physiotherapy?
Manual therapy is done by the therapist’s hands and works on joint mobility, soft tissues and pain. Physiotherapy (gyógytorna) is active: personalised exercises that build the change into your movement and develop strength and stability. Here the two build on each other; they are not alternatives.
What is physical therapy, and can I book it on its own?
Physical therapy relieves pain with devices and physical methods such as TENS, ultrasound, cupping, kinesiology taping and flossing. At MozgásKlinika Újlipótváros it is given together with manual therapy, 24,990 HUF for a 50-minute session; it is not offered as a stand-alone session.
What is Medical Fitness?
Medical Fitness is the maintenance programme at the top of the MozgásPiramis®: endurance and functional-strength training led by a health professional who knows your injury history. At MozgásKlinika Újlipótváros a 60-minute session costs 22,990 HUF.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on your condition and can never be guaranteed in advance. At level 1 of the MozgásPiramis® the clinic recommends 12 sessions, twice a week, and at your first consultation you receive a treatment plan and an estimate.
Why complete the whole treatment programme?
A lasting result needs more than pain relief: function and load tolerance have to be rebuilt, and the correct movement pattern has to become a habit. In MozgásKlinika’s experience most people stop at level 1, as soon as the pain eases, which raises the risk of the problem returning.
Can manual therapy be used for a herniated disc?
Yes. After a proper assessment, manual therapy can also be used for a herniated disc; at the first consultation the therapist decides which techniques are suitable.
What problems do you treat?
MozgásKlinika Újlipótváros treats musculoskeletal problems: lower back, upper back and neck pain, disc herniation, shoulder, hip and knee pain, sports injuries and rehabilitation after surgery. Which treatment suits your problem is decided at the first consultation.
How is MozgásKlinika different from other physiotherapy practices?
At MozgásKlinika Újlipótváros university-trained physiotherapists combine physiotherapy with manual therapy and follow the MozgásPiramis® method. Treatment starts at the very first visit.
