How much does physiotherapy cost in Budapest’s 13th district (XIII. kerület)? At MozgásKlinika Újlipótváros, Váci út 28., opposite Westend, a 50-minute physiotherapy session costs 22,990 HUF, manual therapy is 24,990 HUF, and the 60-minute first visit, which already includes treatment, is also 24,990 HUF. If you need a longer course, a 12-session pass brings the price per session down.
A quick note on terms, because you’ll see them on Hungarian price lists. Gyógytorna is physiotherapy in the sense of guided therapeutic exercise. Manuálterápia is manual therapy: hands-on work on joints, muscles and soft tissue. Most people who come to us end up with some mix of the two.
Nobody enjoys finding out the price at the end of a session, so everything is below: single-session prices, passes, payment options and the cancellation rule. We won’t claim to be the cheapest clinic in town. We will make sure you know what you’re paying for.

Two things the table doesn’t make obvious. First, a combined session costs the same as manual therapy on its own (24,990 HUF), if your therapist thinks you need both. Second, the physical therapy devices here come as part of a session combined with manual therapy; they can’t be booked on their own. Our article on physical therapy in the 13th district explains when those devices are useful.
Not sure which one you need? Don’t try to work it out from a price list; that’s what the first visit is for. If you’d like to read up first, see physiotherapy or manual therapy: where to start and our introduction to manual therapy in Újlipótváros.

What do you get for the first 60 minutes?
Plenty of people expect the first appointment to be a chat, with the real work saved for later. Here it isn’t. For 24,990 HUF you get an assessment and your first treatment in the same session.
- We map out your problem: we ask questions, look at any scans or reports you bring, and use standardised manual and functional orthopaedic tests to find where the pain is coming from.
- We build a treatment plan around you, using the MozgásPiramis® (Movement Pyramid) method, so you know where you are now and what comes next.
- We start treatment in that very first session, with physiotherapy, manual therapy, or both.
If you have an MRI or X-ray, bring it along; reviewing it is included in the price. Our article on the first assessment walks through the hour step by step, including what to wear.

Single session or 12-session pass?
A single session makes sense if you just want a professional opinion, or you’re coming back for a check-up after finishing a course of treatment.
Most musculoskeletal problems, though, don’t settle in one hour. At the first level of the MozgásPiramis® method, the clinic’s own protocol is 12 sessions, twice a week, with roughly equal parts manual therapy and physiotherapy, and the passes are built around that. Nobody can promise you in advance exactly how many sessions you’ll need. That depends on your assessment and on how your body responds.
The maths is straightforward. On the SpineMemo pass a physiotherapy session works out at about 20,830 HUF instead of 22,990 HUF; on Spine Therapy a combined session is about 22,080 HUF instead of 24,990 HUF. Three months is plenty of time for 12 sessions at two a week, even if a cold or a long weekend gets in the way.
There’s a less tangible reason too, and it may matter more. At the first level many people stop as soon as the pain eases, which the clinic considers a mistake because it makes a relapse more likely. Having the 12 sessions paid up front makes it easier to finish the course.
If you want to keep training under professional supervision once treatment is done, Medical Fitness is the next step; read more in Medical Fitness on Váci út.
Payment, health funds and cancellations
- You can pay in cash, by bank card or with a SZÉP card (the Hungarian employee benefit card).
- On request we issue an invoice for Hungarian voluntary health funds (egészségpénztár); MozgásKlinika is contracted with most Hungarian funds. Details are in our article on health funds and SZÉP cards for physiotherapy.
- Passes can be bought through the online booking system or by bank transfer.
- Cancellations within 24 hours are charged in full, payable at your next appointment.
The cancellation rule can look strict. The reason is simple: a day’s notice usually gives someone else the chance to take the slot, a couple of hours’ notice rarely does.
If you have foreign or international health insurance: we are a private healthcare provider under Hungarian law and issue standard Hungarian invoices only. We can’t fill in insurer-specific forms or correspond with foreign insurance companies, and claiming reimbursement is your responsibility. Card currency conversion fees are set by your bank. It’s worth checking with your insurer before you start a course of treatment.
Twice a week for six weeks: location counts
Twelve sessions at two a week means twelve return trips. So alongside the price of a pass, it’s worth thinking about how much time you’ll spend getting here.
The clinic is on Váci út between Lehel tér and Nyugati, opposite Westend and near the DM on Váci út. The M3 metro stops at Lehel tér and Nyugati pályaudvar are close by, as are trams 4 and 6 at Nyugati tér (about 2–3 minutes on foot from the Lehel tér metro exit, about 8 from Nyugati pályaudvar). If you drive, you can park in the Westend underground car park and cross Váci út (500 HUF per hour with the Westend app). Inside there are a few steps, then a lift up to the mezzanine (félemelet). If you work along the Váci út office corridor, a slot before or after work may fit your day (Monday to Friday, 8:00–20:00). Full directions are in how to find us near Westend.
Frequently asked questions
How much is a physiotherapy session in the 13th district?
At our Váci út clinic a 50-minute physiotherapy session is 22,990 HUF, and a session combined with manual therapy is 24,990 HUF. A 12-session pass lowers the price per session. Prices can change, so check the current list before booking.
How many sessions will I need?
There’s no way to say in advance, and we don’t promise a number. After your first assessment your therapist will tell you what they recommend. The clinic’s standard protocol for the first stage of treatment is 12 sessions, twice a week. If you’re curious what a physiotherapist in the 13th district actually does, we’ve written about that separately.
Will my insurance cover it?
Hungarian voluntary health funds: yes, we can issue an invoice, and MozgásKlinika works with most of them. Foreign insurers: we only issue Hungarian invoices and can’t complete their forms, so check with your insurer and claim the cost yourself.
What should I bring to the first session?
Any previous scans or reports you have: MRI, X-ray, discharge summaries. Reviewing them is included in the first consultation price. Wear something comfortable you can move in.
